PURPOSE:To reduce rotation unevenness and suppress a vibration and a noise by a method wherein a driving pulse width and a driving voltage or current are adjusted for every number of phases in accordance with the number of phases to which currents are applied while a motor is driven. CONSTITUTION:Driving pulse signals whose frequency is switched in accordance with the number of phases to which currents are applied are supplied to a motor driver 10 from four gates 6-9. A driven motor such as a stepping motor has two coils 11 and 12 to which currents are applied to make a rotor 13 on a motor shaft rotate. In order to apply the currents to the coils 11 and 12 with a predetermined driving mode, the driver 10 is so operated as to drive with pulses of a 40% duty in the case of signal-phase excitation and with pulses of a 30% duty in the case of two-phase excitation. |
