The suspension has an arm (4) at which an upper edge of a flag (1) i.e. political flag, is fastened, and another arm (9) at which a lower edge of the flag is fastened. The latter arm is rotatable or pivotable with respect to a vertical or tilted axis of rotation (10). A device (11) is provided with a ring, where the latter arm is fastened to the ring. A sleeve or sleeve bearing is arranged between a pole (2) and the ring. The device includes a rubber-elastic joint. The latter arm is held in a predetermined angular position by a spring element i.e. rubber-elastic tensile unit.
