A ceiling type air conditioner and a motor of the ceiling type air conditioner are provided to easily install the ceiling type air conditioner even in a narrow indoor space by reducing height of the ceiling type air conditioner, to improve installation freeness and easily install the air conditioner in various conditions, to enhance using convenience, and to easily manufacture/transfer/install the air conditioner by making it compact. A ceiling type air conditioner comprises a cabinet(1); a suction port(6) formed on the lower surface of the cabinet to suck outer air; a turbo fan sending air sucked up through the suction port to lateral sides; an outer rotor motor(2) inserted into the turbo fan to be partially fixed with a hub(3) of the turbo fan; a heat exchanger(9) installed at the outer side of the turbo fan; and a discharge port(7) sending air out after exchanging heat by the heat exchanger. The outer rotor motor is formed with a stator placed inside; and a rotor placed at the outer side of the stator. The hub is fixed on the rim outer surface of the rotor.
