The vehicle (1) has brake control units (51) i.e. CPUs, transmitting brake control signals from front and rear axles (Sf, Sr) to front and rear brake actuators i.e. disk brakes, respectively. The control units have electronic calculating units connected to effort sensors that measure brake efforts applied on one of running wheels (3a, 3b) of a front running gear and on one of running wheels (4a) of a rear running gear, respectively. The control units generate the brake control signals based on the efforts measured by the sensors. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling braking of a vehicle.
