The method involves determining a linear or exponential law of evolution of difference between a speed of an engine shaft and speed of a primary shaft between initial time and final time. The shafts turn at different speeds at initial time and turn at identical speed at final time. The law verifies whether a derivative of the difference is lesser than or equal to a preset value for closing. Closing of a clutch is controlled in real time by a control unit for varying rate of the engine shaft by braking or accelerating the engine shaft so that engine speed follows the law.
