<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst whose NOx removing performance and resistance to sulfur poisoning are improved. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification catalyst includes a catalyst layer 2 formed on a support 1, which layer contains Ce-containing oxide particles 3 having an oxygen storage/release capacity, a NOx trap material 8 and a catalytic metal 5. The catalyst layer 2 further contains a large number of fine iron oxide particles 4 of ≤300 nm particle diameter that are dispersed therein and are in contact with the Ce-containing oxide particles 3 and the NOx trap material 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
