PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating device capable of enhancing the separation performance of a recording member when the recording member passes through a fixing device, and capable of reducing the interference with a separation guide. SOLUTION: Normal rotation and reverse rotation of a pressure roller 35 are controlled on the basis of a temperature of the pressure roller 35 detected by a temperature detector 40. The pressure roller 35 is rotated (R2) in a conveyance direction of the recording member if the temperature detected by the temperature detector 40 is higher than a prescribed temperature, and is rotated (R1) in a direction opposite to the conveyance direction of the recording member if the detected temperature is lower than the prescribed temperature.
