摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration monitoring device and a monitoring method for efficiently propagating ultrasonic waves, and monitoring high-accuracy vibration of a measuring object, when an intermediate structure exists between a structure, such as, a container and the measuring object in the structure. SOLUTION: This vibration monitoring device of the structure, having the intermediate structure 5 between the structure and the measuring object 6 in the structure, is equipped with an ultrasonic transmission/reception device 1 provided on an outer wall 4 of the structure; a frequency control device for controlling the transmission frequency of the ultrasonic wave; an A/D conversion device 22 for converting a received wave into a digital value; a signal processing device 23 for measuring vibration displacement of the measuring object 6 from a change of a time waveform shape of a received signal, by performing operation processing of the digital value, and calculating the vibration value and the vibration frequency of the measuring object 6; and an abnormality determining device 25 for determining the abnormality of the measuring object, by monitoring the changes in the vibration values or the vibration frequency. The wavelength of the ultrasonic waves transmitted from the ultrasonic transmitting/receiving device 1 is set to 2/n fold the time (n is an integer) of the thickness of the intermediate structure.
