<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object moving unit which eliminates the risk of fall of an object such as a vehicle or damage to the object in such a manner as to be different from cooperative conveyance making real-time exchange of information performed between trucks only by radio communication, and which enables the sure and stable movement of the object such as the vehicle while reducing costs by dispensing with complicated cooperative control and the mounting of high-performance CPU, a force sensor, etc. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This object moving unit comprises a truck body 2 which can be omnidirectionaly self-propelled by a travel driving device 1, and a lifter 5 which is mounted on the truck body 2 via a connecting mechanism 3 and which lifts up the vehicle 4. The object moving unit is equipped with a leader truck A movable along a given target orbit, and a follower truck B which follows the motion of the leader truck A by switching the traveling state of the truck body 2 into a following traveling state by a traveling-state switching means 50 when the vehicle 4 is lift up together with the leader truck A, self-propelled by a travel driving device 1, and a lifter 5 which is mounted on the truck body 2 via a connecting mechanism 3 and which lifts up the vehicle 4. The object moving unit is equipped with a leader truck A movable along a given target orbit, and a follower truck B which follows the motion of the leader truck A by switching the traveling state of the truck body 2 into a following traveling state by a traveling-state switching means 50 when the vehicle 4 is lift up together with the leader truck A.
