METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIPEPTIDYL PEPTIDASE IV INHIBITOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitor having high safety.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitor has a step to perform protease treatment of a collagen subjected to collagenase treatment or a decomposition product of gelatin. The method further contains a step to purify a protease decomposition product obtained by the protease treatment by either one of an organic solvent precipitation method and a resin purification method or a combination of both methods. Preferably, the protease is one or more of protease selected from the group consisting of a protease derived from microorganisms of the genus Bacillus, a protease derived from microorganisms of the genus Aspergillus and a protease derived from pineapple.
