<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing power consumption, by minimizing frame discard in a network repeater, where stop or restart of operation of a transport plane is assumed. <P>SOLUTION: The network repeater comprises: a transfer plane which includes a plurality of network processors for forwarding received frame data; a control plane which is connected communicably with the network processor and generally controlling the network repeater; and a power supply section for supplying power to each component of the transfer plane and the control plane. The power supply section can perform, such a control as stopping power supply to any one of the plurality of network processors of the transfer plane while sustaining power supply to the control plane and making that network processor an inactive processor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
