PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine wherein a player can participate in the change of images displayed at a display device. SOLUTION: A Pachinko slot machine (1) is provided with an object detection sensor (17) for detecting proximity and separation of an object. Then, when a start lever (6) is operated, the display of video images by a liquid crystal display device (5) and the output of sound by speakers (9L and 9R) are started. Then, when the proximity of the object is detected by the object detection sensor (17), the display of the video images by the liquid crystal display device (5) and the output of the sound by the speakers (9L and 9R) are interrupted. Also, when the separation of the close object is detected by the object detection sensor (17), the interrupted display of the video images by the liquid crystal display device (5) and the interrupted output of the sound by the speakers (9L and 9R) are restarted.
