<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gripping rear part of a new form plate from interfering with a suction pad for carrying the new form plate when automatically attaching the new form plate to a plate cylinder for the new form plate, by simple constitution, as to a form plate replacing device and a printer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This form plate replacing device is provided with: the plurality of suction pads 42 for sucking a reverse face of a press plate 100 to be supported; a moving member 41 mounted with the suction pads, and moving to make a gripping part 100a gripping the press plate suction-supported by the suction pads reach a gap of the plate cylinder; and an elastic guide plate 50 fixed in an end point position of the movement of the suction pads, pressure-contacting with reverse face of the press plate at an elastic force weaker than a suction force to the press plate of the suction pads, and having a guide face 51a sliding with the reverse face or the gripping rear part projected from the reverse face, when transferring the press plate. The elastic guide plate 50 is arranged to separate the press plate from the suction pads by the elastic force, when the suction pads release the suction of the reverse face of the press plate in the end point position.
