<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ac motor which has a stator composed of three-phase stator magnetic pole groups 6U, 6V, and 6W and two stator coils being axially stacked, suppresses cost increase, and has superior magnetic characteristics and magnetic intensity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A stator is composed of three-phase stator magnetic pole groups 6U, 6V, and 6W made by axially stacking respective groups of deformed magnetic steel plates and two loop-shaped stator coils. The three-phase stator magnetic pole groups 6U, 6V, and 6W each have four stator magnetic poles 60u, 60v, and 60w that are arranged circumferentially at equal intervals, and are combined to be shifted circumferentially to each other so that the stator magnetic poles 60u, 60v, and 60w of respective phases have a phase difference of 120 degrees at an electrical angle relative to the magnetic pole of a rotor 5. Each of two stator coils is formed axially in a corrugated shape, and is applied with a three-phase AC voltages having a mutual phase difference of 120 degrees in accordance with the revolution position of the rotor 5.
