<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a cellulose ester film with an excellent property as a supporting body is used as an optical compensator sheet. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having the optical compensator sheets bonded to upper and lower sides of a VA mode liquid crystal cell, polarizing films disposed on upper and lower sides of the optical compensator sheets, and protective films disposed on upper and lower sides of the polarizing films, the optical compensator sheets are composed of a film of a lower aliphatic acid ester of cellulose having a protective function of the polarizing film, the film of the lower aliphatic acid ester of cellulose includes a compound having at least two aromatic rings of 0.3-20 pts.wt. based on the lower aliphatic acid ester of cellulose of 100 pts.wt., and a retardation value of the film of the lower aliphatic acid ester of cellulose in the thickness direction at a wavelength of 550 nm is 100-400 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
