<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grain culm feed control system for a combine harvester, having such a scheme as to detect the number of reaped rows by a sensor detecting the boundary between the ear tip and culm parts of grain culms and also adjust and control the separatory section of a threshing apparatus to improve separation precision. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The grain culm feed control system includes a boundary detection sensor 6 of analyzing the frequency of reflected light and detecting a boundary W between an ear tip part U and culm part V of grain culms based on the resultant frequency difference, wherein based on the distance of reflected light from the surface of conveyed grain culms as the detection value of the sensor 6, the number of reaped rows is detected from a preset number of reaped rows and a grain culm layer thickness.
