PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater sound measurement apparatus of a towed model ship for identifying a location at which an underwater sound is generated, and reducing noise, and to provide a method for the same. SOLUTION: The underwater sound measurement apparatus includes: a water tank 2; a towing vehicle 4 running on the ground 3 along the water tank 2; the model ship 5 held by the towing vehicle 4, directing its head in the running direction of the towing vehicle 4, and towed in the water tank 2; and a hydrophone 6 held by the towing vehicle 4, and directed to the model ship 5 in water of the water tank 2.
