RETURN SAFETY CONFIRMATION METHOD AND GAS SHUTOFF VALVE APPARATUS

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a return safety confirmation method and a gas shutoff valve apparatus capable of shortening the return safety confirmation action time more than the conventional method and shortening the time required for opening the valve. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gas shutoff valve apparatus includes: a memory means 12 for storing the result of a leakage inspection conducted immediately before the return safety confirmation action; a first determination means 11a for determining the result of the leakage inspection stored in the memory means 12 whether there is a leakage or not upon the return safety confirmation action; a first leakage inspection means 11b for conducting a first leakage inspection having a first inspection time when the determination result by the first determination means 11a is "there is a leakage"; a second leakage inspection means 11c for conducting a second leakage inspection having a second inspection time shorter than the first inspection time when the determination result by the first determination means 11a is "there is no leakage"; and a control means 11d for renewing the result of the leakage inspection stored in the memory means 12 with the result of the first leakage inspection and for returning a shutoff valve 14 to an open condition when the result of the first or the second leakage inspection is "there is no leakage".
