<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester capable of yielding an electrophotographic toner excellent in low-temperature fixing property, hot offset resistance and resistance to hollow defects, a resin particle dispersion for an electrophotographic toner using the polyester, an electrophotographic toner, and a production method of the resin particle dispersion. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polyester for an electrophotographic toner is used for manufacturing the toner, which comprises a step of particulating raw material components comprising a binder resin containing at least the polyester in an aqueous medium or solution, and is obtained through condensation polymerization of an alcohol component and a carboxylic acid component containing at least one chosen from an alkyl succinic acid and an alkenyl succinic acid. Here, the total amount of an alkyl bis succinic acid and an alkenyl bis succinic acid contained in the total amount of the alkyl succinic acid and the alkenyl succinic acid is ≤5%.
