<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scale capable of preventing dust, and the like, from entering into a gap between a scale body and a scale plate and maintaining face-to-face interaction between a salesclerk and a customer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The scale having edges of the scale plate extended to cover sides of the scale body includes a display instrument displaying a metering result on the side facing an extended portion of the scale plate, and the extended portion of the scale plate facing the display instrument is formed of a translucent member.
