PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production technology of a solid fuel, capable of recovering more used solvent oil than those in conventional methods. SOLUTION: This method for producing the solid fuel comprises a mixing process of mixing a mixed oil containing a heavy oil and the solvent oil with porous coal to obtain slurry, a vaporization process of heating the slurry for dehydration to obtain dehydrated slurry, a solid-liquid separation process of separating the solvent oil from the dehydrated slurry to obtain a cake, a drying process of heating the cake and further separating the solvent oil from the cake and a circulating process of circulating the solvent oil separated and recovered in the solid-liquid separation process and drying process. Among the components of the solvent oil used in the mixing process, a component having a higher boiling point than the heating temperature (de-oiling temperature) of the cake by ≥40°C is made as ≤1 wt.% based on the whole of the solvent oil.
