PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a (1,3-dioxoran-4-yl)alkyl alcohol at high purity and a method for producing a high purity dioxorane ring-containing (meth)acrylate monomer with the use of the (1,3-dioxoran-4-yl)alkyl alcohol obtained by the above method. SOLUTION: The method for purifying a (1,3-dioxoran-4-yl)alkyl alcohol comprises subjecting the (1,3-dioxoran-4-yl)alkyl alcohol obtained by the reaction of a carbonyl group-containing compound with an alkanetriol compound to oxidation treatment by an oxidizing agent to purify the alcohol. The method for producing a (meth)acrylic ester represented by formula (IV) comprises subjecting the above obtained alcohol and a 1-4C lower alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid to transesterification.
