<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact-absorbing structure for an instrument panel capable of efficiently absorbing an impact force by a collision to the instrument panel of a human body portion at a collision accident or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The impact-absorbing structure for the instrument panel reduces the impact force to a human body when the human body portion of the head H, the knee K or the like of an occupant 8 by the collision accident of the vehicle collides to the instrument panel 1. The instrument panel 1 has: a central box 3; a surface panel 2 constituting a surface of the instrument panel 1 and mounted with the central box 3; and vertical walls fixed to the inside of the instrument panel 1 and oppositely arranged close to a vehicle front side of a rear end of the central box 3 at a front side of a driver's seat or a front passenger seat. When a storage box is forwardly moved relative to the vehicle accompanied by the deformation of the surface panel by the collision of the human body portion, a projection 3b' guided for upwardly or downwardly guiding a rear end of the storage body is provided on a vertical wall 5'.
