The phantom (1) has a base body (2) made from a material e.g. plexiglass(RTM: light, transparent, weather-resistant thermoplastic), that is permeable for X-ray radiation, and comprising a flat base surface (3). Two markings (4, 5) are made from a material e.g. lead, that is impermeable for the radiation and provided for marking respective points, where the points are arranged congruently at a distance (d) to each other in a viewing direction perpendicular to the base surface. The base body has a base plate (6) and a cover plate (7) connected with one another by a bracket (8). An independent claim is also included for a method for using an X-ray phantom for measuring and/or adjusting an X-ray system.
