The cage has adjacent elements (2, 3) connected by corresponding connecting elements (15, 18). The element (2) exhibits a cage bar (4) that is axially extended between two adjacent rolls (1). The adjacent elements are designed as sheet stamping parts. Side parts (6) with the connecting elements are formed by bending, and are provided at both ends of the cage bar. Guide extensions (17, 18, 20, 21) extend from the cage bar in a direction on the rolls. Guiding elements (26-29) are provided as curved ends of the guide extensions.
