<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift controller for a vehicle capable of accurately detecting abnormality of the shift controller in regard to a shift controller for a vehicle controlling an actuator on the basis of a range change signal to change traveling ranges. <P>SOLUTION: Even if there is failure between an electric actuator 34 and a manual valve 31, the failure can be determined on the basis of change of a context of rotational positions (θ<SB>ROT</SB>, θ<SB>NSW</SB>) of a rotary encoder 80 and a neutral start switch 82. In other words, even in a type with the rotary encoder 80 and the neutral start switch 82 built in the electric actuator 34, or in a type of the rotary encoder 80 and the neutral start switch 82 arranged side by side in positions near the electric actuator 34, even failure caused in a manual valve side than the position detecting means can be determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
