<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device and an image forming device capable of processing a jam without breaking a lock mechanism and a guide. <P>SOLUTION: A rotatable upper carrying guide 300 constituting a straight carrying path 160 carrying a sheet is held so as to be openable and closable at a predetermined position for opening the straight carrying path 160 by holding means constituted of a locked member 305 and a lock member 306.
