<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston of internal combustion engine that can improve cooling efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A cavity (oil passage 6) through which oil is circulated is provided in a piston head 2a, and the cavity (oil passage 6) is formed by cast-in inserting a hollow member 3 containing porous material (oil passage formation member 5) into a raw material of a piston 1. Within the porous material, an impregnated material (aluminum alloy) with a higher coefficient of thermal conductivity than that of the porous material (Ni-resist cast iron) is impregnated.
