<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the effect of liquid oils on skin softening, to provide a skin-care preparation for external use containing the liquid oils, and to provide a method for producing the skin-care preparation for external use. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The skin-care preparation for external use, which is synergistically improved in the effect of softening the skin, is such as to be obtained by combinedly using two or more liquid oils selected from cetyl 2-ethylhexanoate, shea butter, decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, pentaerythritol tetra-2-ethylhexanoate, triisostearic acid hydrogenated castor oil, isostearyl pivalate and meadowfoam oil.
