<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that smoothly corrects an angle of view without any special mode switching operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical device includes: a control means for switching a driving mechanism into a state for motor driving of a zoom lens when a focusing lens is driven when the driving mechanism is set so as to manually drive the zoom lens; and a decision means for deciding whether motor driving control over the zoom lens corresponding to the driving of the focusing lens is completed when the driving mechanism is set so as to drive the zoom lens by a motor. When the decision means decides that the motor driving control over the zoom lens is completed, the control means switches the driving mechanism into a state for manual driving of the zoom lens.
