PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer removal auxiliary brush for efficiently assisting removal of developer remaining after development or transfer on a developer carrier, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The developer removal auxiliary brush includes two kinds of brushes, which are a first electrostatic brush 15 and a second electrostatic brush 16 disposed in that order in the rotating direction of the developer carrier, in order to aid removal of developer remaining after development on a developing roll 12 bearing developer containing a toner.
