PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for dentistry, excellent in mechanical strength, polishing luster and transparency of its cured material and also having good operability of its paste. SOLUTION: This composition for dentistry contains (A) a polymerizable monomer component, (B) an amorphous filler containing silica-based fine particles, and an oxide covering the surface of the silica-based fine particles and containing a zirconium atom, a silicon atom and an oxygen atom, and (C) a polymerization initiator, wherein, the polymerizable monomer component (A) contains (a) an aromatic polymerizable monomer having a hydroxy group, (b) an aromatic polymerizable monomer without having the hydroxy group and (c) an aliphatic polymerizable monomer, and in the polymerizable monomer component (A), the contents of the polymerizable monomers (a), (b) and (c) are 20 to 60 mass% (a), 20 to 60 mass% (b) and 5 to 45 mass% (c), respectively.
