PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyesterimide also having a high glass transition temperature (soldering heat resistance), a linear thermal expansion coefficient equal to a metal foil or lower than it, an extremely low water-absorption ratio, an extremely low moisture absorption expansion coefficient, excellent flame resistance, high thermal stability and sufficient toughness by a polyesterimide precursor. SOLUTION: The polyesterimide precursor contains a repetition unit represented by formula (1).
