<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accurate, simple and inexpensive examination method useful for evaluating sperm function. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A method for detecting sperm nucleus DNA fragmentation with high accuracy is found, and a data classification method and a sperm function examination method useful for easily analyzing the sperm function is established, and further a method for evaluating the sperm function by a sperm head part vacuole and a data analysis method for the evaluation are established. Following methods are provided based on these methods: a sperm function examination method by using sperm nucleus DNA fragmentation as an index, a sperm function examination method by using the sperm head part vacuole as an index, a sperm function examination method formed by combining these examination methods, a sperm nucleus DNA fragmentation detection method, a sperm head part vacuole measuring method, a diagnosis method for male infertility, and a sperm selection method.
