<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust device for a straddle-type vehicle allowing a compact design while satisfying the sound deadening characteristic requirements. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The exhaust device 100 for the straddle-type vehicle 1000 comprises an exhaust pipe 20 connected to an engine 50 and a silencer 10 connected to the exhaust pipe 20. The exhaust pipe 20 is provided with a Helmholtz resonator 40, and the Helmholtz resonator 40 is filled with a sound absorbing material 45. The Helmholtz resonator 40 is formed with an opening 42 which communicates with the inside of the exhaust pipe 20.
