PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system for controlling a lighting condition on the basis of image data acquired by an image sensor so that a human body can be reliably detected from the image data even if changing the lighting condition. SOLUTION: The lighting system 1 includes a lighting device 10, an image sensor 14, and a control section 15 for interpreting image data acquired by the image sensor 14 to control a lighting condition of the lighting device 10. The image sensor 14 acquires image data at a first preset time interval, and the control section 15 changes the lighting condition at a second time interval different from the first time interval in changing the lighting condition of the lighting device 10. In this way, it is possible to prevent the change of the lighting condition from influencing the image data as a noise, and to reliably detect a human body from the image data even if changing the lighting condition.
