PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope with a proximal end side fitting part of a distal end forming member, fitted and fixed into a bending piece at the distal end from the distal end side, capable of preventing the piece from falling. SOLUTION: The endoscope comprises a bending part 14 having a plurality of tubular bending pieces 32a and 32b coaxially connected to each other in such a way as rotatable to each other; a control member 30 inserted into the bending part 14; and a distal end forming part 12 disposed at the distal end of the bending part 14 and having the tubular distal end forming member 40. The plurality of bending pieces 32a and 32b include a first bending piece 32a, and the distal end of the control member 30 is fixed to the inner side of the first bending piece 32a. The distal end forming member 40 has the fitting part 42 formed on the proximal end side in the distal end forming member 40. The fitting part 42 is coaxially fitted into the first bending piece 32a from the distal end side and fixed. The fitting part 42 has a notched part 44 for storing the distal end of the control member 30. The position of the proximal end of the fitting part 42 relative to the axial direction approximately matches the position of the proximal end of the first bending piece 32a.
