<p>Provided are an easily formable magnesium alloy sheet having excellent formability and a process for production thereof, more specifically, a process for the production of an easily formable magnesium alloy sheet which has a pole in the sheet transverse direction of (0002)plane texture and exhibits an Erichsen value of 8.0 or above at ordinary temperature, by subjecting either a magnesium alloy containing one or more light rare earth elements, Zn, and, if necessary, Mn and/or Zr in prescribed amounts or a magnesium alloy containing Ca, Zn, and, if necessary, one or more of Al, Mn and Zr in prescribed amounts to hot- or warm-rolling and then annealing; such an easily formable magnesium alloy sheet; and articles made by using the same. Thus, the invention provides an easily formable magnesium alloy sheet applicable to press-formed members for household electrical appliances such as digital camera, notebook personal computer and PDA; and articles made by using the sheet.</p> |
