<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus of a hybrid vehicle, which facilitates gear shifting by securing high responsibility of a motor generator. <P>SOLUTION: The control apparatus of the hybrid vehicle, which is suitably adapted to the hybrid vehicle having an engine and the motor generator, changes a control system relating to the motor generator according to a control area predetermined by an operation point (rotation speed, torque) of the motor generator. Specifically, a control means controls engine torque so that the operation point of the motor generator enters the control area for PWM control in gear shifting. The motor generator can be suitably controlled by the PWM control system in gear shifting, and the high responsiveness of the motor generator can be suitably secured.
