PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost for replacing a charger in an image forming apparatus that uses the charger. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor; and a charger including a power-supply member for charging the photoreceptor, and a grid. In particular, the image forming apparatus includes: a detection unit for detecting the occurrence of tracking based on at least one of a bias voltage of the grid and a power-supply voltage of the power-supply member; and a reporting unit for reporting that the charger should be replaced, when the detection unit detects the occurrence of the tracking.
