PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent forgery of a document by detecting copy inhibition information or a ground tint pattern area on the document even when magnifying the document with any arbitrary magnifying power. SOLUTION: When a specific dot pattern is detected in a pattern detection device 17, image-embedded information (detecting signal) of the dot pattern is transmitted to a ground tint pattern position storage device 18, and the ground tint pattern position storage device 18 calculates from the received image-embedded information and stores the position of the dot pattern after 50% reduction magnification of read image data (S13). Next, the image data and positional information of the dot pattern are fed back to an image data processing apparatus 2 (S14). The image data processing apparatus 4 specifies the position of the dot pattern on the basis of the positional information of the dot pattern after 50% reduction magnification calculated by the ground tint pattern position storage device 18, paints out the position (S16) and outputs the image data to a plotter 7 (S17).
