<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide refuse feeder capable of preventing the formation of a refuse lump in a refuse feeding conveyer having an upward tilting portion without increasing running cost, and successively feeding the refuse to an incinerator by eliminating the retention of the refuse. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Near a tilting starting portion 4b<SB>0</SB>of the upward tilting portion 4b of a refuse carrying belt 4 in a refuse carrying conveyer 2 constituting the refuse feeder 1, in parallel with a moving direction of the refuse carrying belt 4, a plurality of refuse backflow preventing means 5 sorting the refuse on the refuse carrying belt 4 in a width direction of the refuse carrying belt 4 and preventing the backflow of the refuse from the upward tilting portion 4b to the tilting starting portion 4b<SB>0</SB>is disposed in the width direction orthogonal to a moving direction of the refuse carrying belt 4 at predetermined intervals considering the size of the refuse.
