PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance device for an ink-jet head which can be reduced in the number of a solution suction means and an air opening means corresponding to the ink-jet head and further, can be reduced in size. SOLUTION: An arbitrary ink-jet head can be selected by the combination of pump motors M1 and M2 and solenoid valves V1, V2, V3 and V4, as a method for identifying the ink-jet head for sucking ink and the inside of a cap A11 corresponding to the selected ink-jet head (for instance, an ink-jet head A1) is made to have negative pressure, to suck the ink from the nozzle of the ink-jet head A1 and further, introduce air into the cap.
