PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool signal processing parts for processing input image signals, without using a temperature sensor. SOLUTION: An image projection apparatus includes: a plurality of signal processing parts 108, 109, and 111 for processing input image signals different by types respectively; a cooling mechanism for cooling the plurality of signal processing parts by air flowing due to rotation of fans; and a control means 101 for controlling the rotation of fans 120 and 121. The control means varies rotational frequencies of the fans in accordance with a signal processing part which processes an input image signal, out of the plurality of signal processing parts. Furthermore, a flow path control means 901 is provided which changes a flow path of air in accordance with a signal processing part which processes an input image signal, out of the plurality of signal processing parts.
