The device has a process gas inlet (1) by which process gas is led to a centrally positioned unloading area (2), and a plasma generator (4). The plasma generator has a nozzle (3) through which plasma beam (5) i.e. ionized gas jet, is emitted, where the nozzle is aligned towards a carrier. A workpiece (7) with a to-be-treated-surface rests on the carrier, where a shielding grid (6) is arranged between the workpiece and the nozzle, and is earthed. The shielding grid and the plasma nozzle are made of V2A-steel.
