<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem encountered, when a mechanism for transmission with a bit rate varied according to the state of communication is used to transmit AV data, obtained by picking up an image with a camera for broadcasting service through a network: the image quality becomes degraded, depending on the state of communication and this can degrade the value of data for broadcasting service. <P>SOLUTION: A video image transmission apparatus transmits images to a server through a transmission path. The apparatus includes: a state-of-communication detection unit that detects the state of communication in the transmission path; a transmission unit that converts the bit rate of an image according to the state of communication and transmits the image; a play list generation unit that generates a play list holding information indicating a section in which the bit rate of the image after conversion becomes equal to or lower than a threshold value; a recording medium for recording audio and video data; and a recording unit for recording the play list and the audio and video data. After the completion of recording to the recording unit, the audio and video data and the play list corresponding to the above section in the recording unit are retransmitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
