<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle capable of locating an abnormal part, when charging an electricity accumulating unit from an external power source. <P>SOLUTION: When a positive inverter current (charge direction is set positive) is detected at gate interruption of each inverter (YES at S30) in a state ready for charging (YES at S10), abnormality with a boosting converter is decided (S40). Further, when the detected current is large (YES at S50), an SMR is turned off immediately (S60). On the other hand, when a negative inverter current is detected (YES at S90), abnormality (gate inferiority) with the inverter is decided (S100).
