<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce frictional heat generated when piston rings slide along an inner wall surface of a cylinder. <P>SOLUTION: This boosting pump 1 for a low temperature fluid has a piston 3 forming a plurality of ring grooves 7 on an outer peripheral surface, a plurality of piston rings 8 arranged in the ring grooves 7, and a cylinder block 6 for storing these piston 3 and piston rings 8 in the cylinder 5 formed on its inside.
