<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submersible pump capable of surely draining water to a desired water level and hardly causing various components in the pump to wear. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The submersible pump 1 is equipped with a strainer 7 furnished at the side face with a plurality of holes 72 having the same diameter. At the opening 73 where the holes 72 are bored, the density of holes 72 in the lower part 76 positioned below relatively is set lower than that of the holes 72 in the upper part 75 positioned above relatively.
