<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted inductor for preventing reliability of a surface mount inductor from decreasing, caused by electrode separation process. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing of a surface mount inductor includes, starting in the order of: a magnetic body layer formation process for forming a magnetic body layer 10 where two lead terminals 22, 24 of a coil 20 project outside from an electrode formation surface SF, by performing pre-pressing formation of insulating magnetic powder, while the coil 20 includes: a magnetic body block formation process for forming a magnetic body block where the magnetic body layer 10 and conductive powder CP, supplied to the electrode formation surface have been integrated by a press formation method, while a member 30 for separating electrodes is arranged at a prescribed position on the electrode formation surface; and an electrode separation process for separating an electrode layer 40 formed by performing press formation of the conductive powder CP into a first electrode 42 and a second electrode 44 connected to two lead terminals 22, 24, respectively, by removing the member 30 for separating electrodes from the magnetic body block.
